Rosilda Thompson, 90, of Moncton, passed away peacefully with family by her side on Sunday January 21, 2018, at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont UHC. Born February 10, 1927 in Benjamin River, she was the daughter of the late James and Célina (Boudreau) Gagné.
She is survived by 10 children: Carol Wright (Rick), Joan McDonald (late Chris), and Gail Smith (Ralph), all of Riverview, Ann Belliveau (Pete) of Lakeville, Wade, Barry (Jeannine), Debbie Phillip (Glen), Steve (Lisa), Norine Thompson and Lee (Cindy), all of Moncton; 19 grandchildren: Cory, Melissa, Vanessa, Maria, Angela, Julie, Miranda, Richard, Michael, Megan, Nathan, Tyler, Joshua, Jesse, Lydia, Julia, Noah, Isaiah, and Alysha; 13 great-grandchildren: Cassidy, Katrina, Connor, Brody, Gavin, Carter, Dexter, Gage, Cleese, Piper, Milo, Owen, and Fiona; six siblings: Theresa, Alex, Hubert, Marie, Louis, and Roslyn; 12 half-siblings; her niece, Shawna Gagne (Pascal) who was more like a granddaughter, and Shawna’s children: Ocean and Willow; as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Walter; one grandson, James; four siblings: Evelyn, Lenora, Lionel, and Mary Rose de Lima.
There will be an open house for condolences and sharing of memories at 139 Glenwood Drive, Moncton on Thursday January 25 from 1 pm till evening. Interment will be in Our Lady of Calvary cemetery, Dieppe. In memory of Rosilda, a contribution to the N.B. Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, Moncton (858-1900).
