Eleanor Bourque, 93, of Moncton, passed away on Monday February 5, 2018, at The Moncton Hospital. Born on June 10, 1924 in Scoudouc, she was the daughter of the late Henri and Alice (Gauvin) Bourque.
After graduating at Moncton High, Eleanor went to the Bouctouche Convent then worked at CFB Scoudouc Airport and in administration of Department of National Defense Supply Depot #5 for 28 years prior to her retirement.
She is survived by several nieces and nephews, and was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
She was predeceased by one sister, Sr. Norma ndsc; two brothers, Claude and Yvon; and one half-brother, Emery Gauvin.
In accordance to her wishes, there will be no visitation at the funeral centre. The funeral mass will be celebrated at Christ-Roi R.C. Church, 300 Dominion Street, Moncton on Thursday February 8 at 11 am. Interment will be in Scoudouc parish cemetery. In memory of Eleanor, a contribution to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Frenette Funeral Centre, Moncton (858-1900).
