Ella Drisdelle, 98, of Moncton, passed away Monday February 5, 2018 at The Moncton Hospital. Born July 12, 1919 in Memramcook, she was the daughter of the late Fidèle and Élodia (Goguen) Bourque.
Ella was a graduate of Moncton High School Class of '38 and of Success Business College. She worked as a secretary/bookkeeper until she became a Mom. She was a very devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Her greatest enjoyment was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren as she was always there for them. She was always willing to listen and encourage them while sharing her wisdom. As she became older, her great-grandchildren became her source of enjoyment.
She will be very sadly missed by everyone who knew her, especially her family, three daughters: Fernande Condron (Raymond) of Moncton, Charlotte still at home, and Joanne LeBlanc (Charles) of Halifax; one son, Francis (Claudette); and one adopted son, Roch Turpin, both of Moncton; four granddaughters: Kim Mowat (Dr. Jeff), Michelle Condron, Micheline Daigle (Pierre), and Maggie Turpin; four grandsons: Marc Drisdelle, Matthew Condron, Andre and Luke Turpin; seven great-grandchildren: Benjamin, Sarah and Olivia Mowat, Camron and Zakari Drisdelle, Priya Condron and Zoélie Daigle; two sisters: Lorette Beneteau (late Marc) of Dieppe and Adrienne Perry (late Ken) of Moncton; as well as several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband Clarence in 2001; an infant son at birth; her stepmother, Régina (Allain) Bourque; a sister, Rita LeBlanc (Camille); and a brother, Armand Bourque (Olivine).
The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, 88 Church Street, Moncton (858-1900) on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm and Friday from 9:30 am until time of departure (10:45). The funeral mass will be celebrated at Christ-Roi Catholic Church, 300 Dominion Street, Moncton on Friday February 9, at 11 am followed by a reception at the Christ-Roi Golden Age Club. Interment will be in Our Lady of Calvary cemetery, Dieppe. In Ella’s memory, a contribution to the Friends of the Moncton Hospital Foundation or to a charity of the donor’s choice would be greatly appreciated.
