Alfreda Léger, 84, formerly of Moncton, passed away on Friday February 2, 2018 at the Villa Belle Rive in Montréal, QC. Born on November 28, 1933 in Moncton, she was the daughter of the late Jean-Baptiste and Geneviève (Bastarache) Surette.
She is survived by three sons: Michel of Montréal, Daniel of Ste-Adèle, QC, and Denis (Evelyne) of Lloydminster, AB; seven grandchildren: Charles, Marie-Lou, Derrick, John, Chris, Jess, and Christine; one sister, Simone Léger (Ronny); two brothers: Roger (Stella) and Clarence (Ethel); as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Jean-Paul (2013); one granddaughter, Jenn; two brothers: Valmond and Odule.
The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, 88 Church Street, Moncton (858-1900) Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm and Saturday from 10 am until time of departure (10:45). The funeral mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Assumption Cathedral, 220 St-George Street, Moncton, on Saturday February 10 at 11 am. A reception will follow at the centre. Interment will be in Saint-Anselme cemetery. In memory of Alfreda, a contribution to the Alzheimer Society would be appreciated.
