Emery S. Léger, 98, passed away on Tuesday, July 10, 2018 at the Dr. Georges-L. Dumont UHC. Born in Dupuis Corner on April 22nd, 1920, he was the son of the late Tanis and Albina (Thibodeau) Léger.
Before his retirement, he was a WWII Army veteran and Butcher at Leger Wholesale Meats. Emery was also a member of the Barachois Club d’âge d’or.
He is survived by four daughters: Jeanne Boudreau (late Sylvestre), Louise Boudreau (Maurice), Emerise Bujold (Claude) and Lise Léger; three sons: Donald (Diane), Léo (Joanne) and Michel (Lise-Anne); two sisters: Hélèna Bourque (Néri) and Claudette Plummer (George); five brothers: Alcide (Élise), Léandre (Lucille), Oswald (Alice), Camille (Pauline) and Joseph (Jeanita), thirteen grandchildren, seven great grandchildren as well by many nieces and nephews.
Emery was predeceased by his wife, Catherine née Ouellette (2008); a daughter, Éva (1989); two grandchildren: Christine and Chantal; four sisters: Alice, Evelyne, Marguerite and Juliette.
The funeral mass will be celebrated at the St. Henri R. C. church, 1356 route 133, Grand-Barachois on Friday, July 13 at 10:30 a. m. The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, 396 Main Street, Shediac, on Thursday, July 12 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm only.
In memory of Emery, a contribution to Barachois Cemetery would be appreciated.
