Sr Florence Cormier ndsc
Sister Florence Cormier, ndsc, in religion Sr Marie-Jeannine-Thérèse, of Maison-mère des Religieuses Notre-Dame-du-Sacré-Coeur, Moncton, passed away following a lengthy illness on Thursday November 1, 2018 at the convent where she resided. She was 91 years old and in her 73rd year of her religious life. Born February 14, 1927 in St-Paul, she was the daughter of the late Edmond and Lina (Dionne) Cormier.
Besides her religious family, she is survived by four sisters: Anita Bourgeois (late Armand) of Dieppe, Phyllis Maillet (Léandre) of Leominster, Massachusetts, Sr Stella, ndsc of Moncton and Sr Jeannine, ndsc of Grand-Sault; one brother, Oscar (Lorette) of Shediac; several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by three sisters: Yvonne, Dorice, and Émilie; four brothers: Adélard (Élodie), Henri (Clara), Yvon (Doris), and Joseph.
Sister Cormier will be resting at the Notre-Dame-d’Acadie Pavilion of the Maison-mère, 125 King Street, Moncton (Godfrey Lane entrance) on Sunday from 2 to 8:30 pm and on Monday from 9 am until the funeral mass. Solemn Vespers will be held on Sunday evening at 7 pm. The funeral mass will be celebrated on Monday November 5 in the Maison-mère chapel at 10 am. Interment will be in Memramcook. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, Moncton (858-1900).
