Ola Melanson, 73, of Trois-Ruisseaux, passed away on Tuesday Novembre 3, 2020 at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont UHC. Born in St-André, he was the son of the late Arthur and Laura (Bourque) Melanson.
Before his retirement, he was a schoolteacher and taught in Rogersville and Acadieville. He was an avid golfer and member of the Cap-Pelé Golden Age Club.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Cecile (Gould) Melanson; two children: Micheline (Owen Young) of McQuade, NB, and Denis of Trois-Ruisseaux; two sisters: Ida-Mai Gallant (Ernest) of St-André and Angela Brine (Patrick) of Portage; four brothers: Maurice (Rosalita) of Shediac, Ronald (Claire) of St-André-LeBlanc, Laurie (Denise) of Shemogue and Léonard "Len" (Suzanne) of Cap-Pelé; one cherished granddaughter, Madison; as well as several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a sister, Lillianne Melanson (1953).
Due to the pandemic, the visitation and funeral service will be private.
The funeral mass will be videotaped, and will be available on this obituary by the end of the day Monday, November 9, 2020. Inurnment will be in Frenette Funeral Centre Columbarium, Cap-Pelé.
