Cietta Babineau

Cietta Babineau

It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Cietta Marie Babineau, 80, of Moncton, with family at her side at The Briarlea Special Care Home on Thursday November 19, 2020. Born in Moncton, she was the daughter of the late Albert Cameron and the late Bertha McGrath-Simpson.

She was an accomplished concert violinist, having been the youngest member of the Mount Allison University Orchestra. She lived throughout Canada with her best friend and husband, the late David Babineau, making many friends along the way. She eventually settled back in Moncton where her and David owned several businesses. She was an avid gourmet cook, loved music and especially her precious dog, Bailey.

She will be deeply missed by her three children: Michael (Daila) of Toronto, ON, Stevan and Loren (David), both of Moncton; her pride and joy, her five grandchildren: Kayleigh, Sarah, Jeffrey, Jonathan and Blair; her brother Russell (Gwen) of British Columbia; sisters-in-law, Rita Chase, Jeanne Babineau, Anne Amico and Peggy West; many nieces, nephews,  family members and special friends both in Canada and the USA.

Special thanks for the amazing care and attention given to our mother by The Briarlea Special Care Home. Words are not enough to express the gratitude for you all. Also thank you to the wonderful care from Dr. Annette Thébeau and Dr. Pierre Beaulieu. Thank you to the Extra Mural Program for helping her on her final day, in particular Paulette Innes and Andrea Boudreau.

In accordance with her wishes, there will be no visitation and no funeral service. Interment will be in Frenette Columbarium in Moncton.

In memory of Cietta, in lieu of flowers, a contribution to The Briarlea, the Alzheimer Society, or to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated.

Funeral arrangements are in the professional care of Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, Moncton (858-1900).
