Flavie LeBlanc, 94, of Moncton Residence, formerly of Essex Street, Moncton, passed away peacefully at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont University Hospital Centre on Sunday November 29, 2020. Born in Moncton, she was the daughter of the late Joe Richard and Philomène (Landry) Richard.
Flavie worked at the Moncton City Hospital until her retirement in 1986. She enjoyed playing Bingo and «200» and loved to participate in all activities offered at the Moncton Residence. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother and great-grandmother with an amazing sense of humor. She loved to have fun.
She is survived and will be greatly missed by her son, Leo Paul LeBlanc (Linda) of Riverview; her daughter, Lorraine Babineau (Clarence) of Moncton; four grandchildren: Daniel Doiron (Monique), Denise Doiron-Bourgeois (Luc), Luc Babineau (Sophie) and Krissy MacLeod (Ryan); nine great-grandchildren: Vincent and Kamille Doiron, Alexia, Yanik, Audrée and Émilie Bourgeois, Malie Babineau, Madison and Austin MacLeod; a son-in-law, Normand Doiron (Julia Gautreau); a sister-in-law, Lorraine LeBlanc; a brother-in-law, Robert Gaudet; as well as several nieces, nephews, and friends. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Besides her parents, Flavie was predeceased by her husband, Laurie (2005);one daughter, Linda Doiron (2003); seven sisters: Aurelie LeBlanc, Marie Ouellette, Stella LeBlanc, Aline Babin, Celeste Poirier, Alma Richard, and Shirley Gaudet; four brothers: Abel, Pierre, Adelard, and Paul.
The family would like to thank the Moncton Residence for taking such good care of Mom and making her last years so pleasant, and sends special thanks to Bella Richard for taking Mom under her wing at the residence.
The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, 88 Church Street, Moncton (858-1900) on Thursday from 1 to 4 pm only. Due to the pandemic, face coverings are required and a maximum participation of 25 people at a time with social distancing regulations are in effect. The private funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday December 4 at Christ-Roi R.C. Church, 300 Dominion Street, Moncton. The funeral mass will be videotaped, and the video will be available on her obituary on our Website at the end of the day. Interment will be in Our Lady of Calvary cemetery, Dieppe. In memory of Flavie, a contribution to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated.
